COMMUNITY BANKERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

State Bank of Lizton offers eight scholarships per year to eligible seniors in the following high schools: Avon, Brownsburg, Bethesda Christian, Tri West Hendricks, Lebanon, Western Boone, Zionsville and Plainfield. Applicants must plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school. The annual scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded, one per high school, if a qualified applicant is identified. Awards are renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance (a cumulative 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale). Applicants are chosen on the basis of academics, extracurricular activities, community service involvement, and recommendations of counselors and teachers. Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate a need of $2,000 or greater. Scholarship America selects the recipients. High school seniors may obtain applications from their guidance counselors beginning in February of each year. Applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2011. Boone County students may also download the application at www.bccn.boone.in.us/cf and Hendricks County students may download the application at www.hendrickscountycf.org/scholarships/ after February 1, 2011.
